pyfits-utils software package provides script to detect and fix FITS standards violations, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install pyfits-utils
pyfits-utils is installed in your system.
Make ensure the pyfits-utils package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep pyfits-utils *
You will get with pyfits-utils package name, version, architecture and description in a table
